Careers at California Advanced Imaging Medical Associates

We are a group of 65 fellowship-trained radiologists, including 14 dedicated breast imagers. We have an extremely collegial atmosphere and work closely with our breast surgeons and oncologists, with a strong referral base for procedures including ultrasound, Hologic 3D-tomosynthesis, MRI-guided biopsies, and imaging-guided localizations. We staff six breast centers in our subspecialized model, both of which perform 100% tomosynthesis for all screening and diagnostic exams. Along with state-of-the art clinical technology, we offer specialized expertise, access to philanthropic capital, and top physician talent.  All of our imaging practices follow an academic model with weekly tumor boards, on-site pathologists, a well-run nurse navigator system for conveying patient results, and exceptional referring clinicians. Seeking an exceptional Breast Imager to join a private practice in the California Bay Area serving dedicated high-volume breast centers through California Advanced Imaging Medical Associates (CAIMA). We provide the full spectrum of diagnostic imaging and interventional services to multiple hospitals and service centers in the area including Sutter Health and Marin Health with a robust breast imaging practice.

Ultrasounds are performed by subspecialty-trained breast sonographers.  Along with state-of-the art clinical technology, we offer specialized expertise, access to philanthropic capital, and top physician talent.  Our breast imaging practice follows an academic model with weekly tumor boards, on-site pathologists, a well-run nurse navigator system for conveying patient results, and exceptional referring clinicians.

The position offers a competitive salary with a 1-year track to partnership (for mid-career hires) and full benefits. The candidate can expect a heavy concentration, >60%, of dedicated breast imaging. Along with other partners, the candidate will maintain proficiency in non-subspecialty diagnostic imaging on general diagnostic shifts. Call expectations are very manageable and consist of evening call every 2-3 weeks and general weekend call 4-6 times per year.

We are seeking:

  • A passionate breast imager with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills.
  • American Board of Radiology (ABR) board-certified or board-eligible.
  • Completion of dedicated 6 months-1 year Breast Imaging fellowship, MQSA certified.
  • Proficiency in breast imaging and procedures including interpreting 3-D screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, as well as breast interventions including ultrasound, stereotactic, and MRI-guided biopsies and breast localizations.
  • Proficiency in general diagnostic imaging, well supported by a collegial team of non-breast subspecialists who typically provide call coverage to exclude neuro MR and body MR cases from general call responsibilities.
