Seeking an exceptional Breast Imager to join a private practice in the California Bay Area serving dedicated high-volume breast centers through California Advanced Imaging Medical Associates (CAIMA). We provide the full spectrum of diagnostic imaging and interventional services to multiple hospitals and service centers in the area including Sutter Health and Marin Health with a robust breast imaging practice.

The position offers a competitive salary with a 1-year track to partnership (for mid-career hires) and full benefits. The candidate can expect a heavy concentration, >60%, of dedicated breast imaging. Along with other partners, the candidate will maintain proficiency in non-subspecialty diagnostic imaging on general diagnostic shifts. Call expectations are very manageable and consist of evening call every 2-3 weeks and general weekend call 4-6 times per year.

We are seeking:

  • A passionate breast imager with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills.
  • American Board of Radiology (ABR) board-certified or board-eligible.
  • Completion of dedicated 6 months-1 year Breast Imaging fellowship, MQSA certified.
  • Proficiency in breast imaging and procedures including interpreting 3-D screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, as well as breast interventions including ultrasound, stereotactic, and MRI-guided biopsies and breast localizations.
  • Proficiency in general diagnostic imaging, well supported by a collegial team of non-breast subspecialists who typically provide call coverage to exclude neuro MR and body MR cases from general call responsibilities.

Position:

Partnership-track radiologist focused on nuclear medicine and body imaging in a premier, established, private practice radiology group, California Advanced Imaging Medical Associates, serving California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC), part of Sutter Health.  CPMC is a private, not-for-profit, quaternary care hospital with multiple campuses located entirely within the city of San Francisco.  Up to 50%-time staffing nuclear medicine with the remainder of the time staffing sub-specialized body imaging or general diagnostic radiology rotations with flexibility based on personal interests.  ABR board certification / eligibility required.  Additional ABNM board certification / eligibility or Nuclear Radiology CAQ preferred.  Candidates with subspecialty training in body imaging with an interest in nuclear medicine will also be considered.

 

Environment:

CPMC has state-of-the-art radiology facilities, including two brand-new hospitals completed in 2019 and 2020.  CPMC serves as the hub for Sutter Health’s Advanced Organ Therapy and Transplantation for over 3 million patients across northern California, with over 60 liver and over 200 renal transplants performed annually.  The Center for Melanoma Research and Treatment also draws patients from across northern and central California.

Nuclear Medicine at CPMC is hospital-based and includes general diagnostic nuclear medicine, PET-CT, and radionuclide therapy.  PET-CT is predominantly oncologic, including non-FDG radiotracers for oncology.  Our established program in radionuclide therapy includes iodine-131 therapy of hyperthyroidism and thyroid cancer as well as lutetium-177 therapeutic agents.  Our technologist and nursing staff members are highly skilled and experienced.  We have excellent, collaborative relationships with our referring physicians.  Our group is exceptionally collegial and like-minded about providing exceptional care.

Interventional Radiology, California Advanced Imaging Medical Associates, at California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco

The San Francisco Division of California Advanced Imaging Medical Associates provides an exceptional level of interventional radiology services to California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC).

CPMC is a private, not-for-profit, quaternary care hospital, serving as the hub for Advanced Organ Therapy for the more than 3 million patients cared for by Sutter Health.

In close collaboration with sister clinical services, IR at CPMC helps to support a high-volume organ transplant center which has performed over 10,000 transplants since 1980, with >60 liver and >200 renal transplants performed yearly, in addition to pancreatic and cardiac transplantation.

CPMC has state-of-the-art IR facilities in a brand-new hospital completed in 2020 in the heart of San Francisco.

 

Position:

Partnership-track Interventional Radiologist in an established, stable, private practice Radiology group, California Advanced Imaging Medical Associates (CAIMA), Approximately 75% time staffing IR and 25% time staffing sub-specialized or general diagnostic radiology rotations with flexibility based on personal interests.

 

IR Equipment:

Siemens Artis Angio suites, including biplane, a Siemens Zeego Angio suite, and one GE large bore Revolution CT dedicated to IR procedures.

 

Procedures:

High volume TIPS, Y90s, ablations including MWA and IRE, portal vein reconstructions, complex biliary and urologic interventions, AngioVac, UFE, PAE, kyphoplasty, pulmonary artery embolectomy and more. The ideal candidate would have experience at a liver transplant center and have expertise in Interventional Oncology as well as complex TIPS, BRTO, portal vein reconstructions and complex biliary procedures that are all routine at this center. The ideal candidate would also have experience in a clinic-based IR model and the desire to help grow outpatient services.
