Born in the Bay Area, Dr. Erickson spent his formative years in rural East Tennessee before leaving for the University of Chicago, where he developed a love for both the sciences and foreign languages. After graduating he moved abroad, working in the Caucasus region, Middle East, and East Africa as a journalist, translator and humanitarian relief coordinator for five years before returning to the United States to study medicine, also at the University of Chicago. He returned to the Bay Area to complete his residency training in diagnostic radiology with a sub-specialization in breast imaging at Stanford. Outside of work, Dr. Erickson enjoys spending time in the outdoors with his dog, Summer, and has plans to build a cabin on his family property in Mendocino County.
