Dr. Sera Kim is a board-eligible diagnostic radiologist and nuclear medicine physician who completed her Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine residency as well as a dedicated Breast Imaging Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Her advanced training has provided extensive expertise in breast imaging, nuclear medicine, PET/CT, PET/MR, molecular imaging, and the interpretation of complex diagnostic studies across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Dr. Kim is now a full-time radiologist with California Advanced Imaging Medical Associates (CAIMA), where she provides breast imaging and nuclear medicine services throughout the Peninsula region, serving patients across San Mateo County. She is passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and is particularly interested in the role of advanced imaging technologies in early detection, diagnosis, and personalized treatment planning. Her academic interests have included breast imaging, theranostics, oncologic imaging, and quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and imaging efficiency.
Throughout her career, Dr. Kim has remained actively involved in research, education, and leadership, with multiple scientific presentations and peer-reviewed publications spanning neuroradiology, breast imaging, and molecular imaging. She earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Chemistry from Brown University.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Kim enjoys golfing, exploring visual art exhibitions, and creative pursuits such as scrapbooking and journaling. She values building meaningful connections with her patients and colleagues and is dedicated to lifelong learning, both professionally and personally
